fee, bill, price, charge有甚麼分別？

有錢不是萬能、但沒錢萬萬不能！花費、價錢、薪水英文單字超多，容易令人混淆。

到底charge, fee, rate, bill 有什麼差別？台灣英文教學網站Voicetube整理了各種可以用來代表費用意思的單字，快來一起學習吧！

• 費用類

1. price

指物品的標價；代價

What is the difference in price between the two dresses?
這兩件洋裝的價格差異是？

He will pay a huge price for what he has done.
他會為他的所作所為付出巨大代價的。

如果一個便當要80元，一件洋裝要1000元，一輛車要80萬元，那快樂值多少錢呢？

 

2. charge vs. fee

意義非常相近的兩個詞，指一項服務所收取的費用

The standard charge for house cleaning is $1000 per week.
一般請人打掃家裡的費用大概是一週一千元。

He couldn’t pay the lawyer’s fee and went bankrupt.
他付不出律師費最後破產。

The entrance fee for the museum is $300.
博物館的入場費是 300元。

另外 charge 也有「店家收費」的意思：

How much do you charge for a full makeup?
化一個完整的妝容要多少錢呢？

補充一說，in charge of 這個片語的意思是「負責」，跟價錢無關喔！

Three months after she joined the company, she is already in charge of a new project.
在加入公司三個月後，她已經開始負責一個新的專案。

3. cost

指一整件事的花費。

4. rate

有比例、匯率等意思，在價錢上指「一單位需付的價錢」，常用於住宿費用。

What’s the average hostel rate in Taiwan？
台灣民宿的平均住宿費用大概多少？

5. fare

指搭乘交通工具的費用。

What’s the MRT fare from here to your company?
從這裡搭地鐵去你的公司要多少錢？

6. bill

鈔票；帳單，通常有明細寫出項目及金額。

Honey, where’s our phone bill? I haven’t paid it yet.
親愛的，你有看到我們的電話帳單嗎？我還沒繳。

7. tip

小費，可當名詞或動詞用.

He was satisfied with the service so he tipped the waiter generously.
他非常滿意侍者的服務，因此給了他一筆豐厚的小費。

8. fine

罰款，亦可當名詞或動詞用。

The store was fined for making noises and scattering garbage.
這家店因為製造噪音和亂堆放垃圾而被罰款了。

• 免費類

1. for free

2. free of charge

Clothes alteration is free of charge.

修改衣服是免費的。

3. at no cost

We can use the hotel swimming pool at no cost.

我們可以免費使用飯店的游泳池。

4. without/with no price

• 薪資類

1. salary 

月薪、年薪等

She was offered a salary of $480,000 a year.

她的年薪是48萬元。

2. wage 

工資，如半工讀或粗重工作等，以時薪或日薪為主。

minimum wage 最低薪資

 

3. pay 

泛指一份工作可以賺到多少錢，而不是單份薪資。

The company and employees had a pay negotiation yesterday but didn’t reach the consensus.

公司和員工們昨天進行了薪資協商，但沒有獲得共識。

4. income 

收入，包含工作、投資等等所有賺的錢。

Investing in stock is his primary source of income.

玩股票是他主要的收入來源。
